Queen’s Park

Queen’s Park is in the heart of our area.  QPARA was originally formed over 20 years ago in response to a plan to build some houses in the north of the park, and we have kept a close eye on it ever since.

Queen’s Park is owned and managed by the Corporation of the City of London.  Read about it on the City website.

Every year we organise the popular Queen’s Park Day.  This year it will be  on Sunday 12th September 2010.  For more information visit  queensparkday.org.uk.

QPARA is represented on the City of London Open Spaces Consultative Group in relation to Queen’s Park which meets twice a year.  This group has made it a priority to redesign the older children’s play area and attempts are now being made to find funding.

We also have regular meetings with Richard Gentry, the manager.  Richard usually comes to our monthly meetings too.

Volunteer involvement in the park has recently begun- thistle removal on the wildflower bund nearest to Harvist Road.
